Let's introduce some of our team.
"I set out on a journey to offer a better experience with true 24x7 support. Not in the way others were with a response within a couple of business days, but with real humans there any time of the day to help solve customer problems promptly and provide helpful advice.
Damien and I shared a passion for doing things the right way and joined me to co-found what later became Layershift. We knew that being honest and transparent with our customers would help us stand out amongst the competition and that it would be beneficial to those customers.
In my free time, I enjoy travelling to warm places to relax. My favourite is the beautiful island of Bali. It’s hard to tear me away from the poolside."
"I started out from a web development background and was one of Andrew's (our CEO) first hosting customers. I have a deep technical background in hardware and computer systems design, as well as a love for SQL and regex. I believe in keeping things simple, because simplification maximises performance and reliability. This helps me when helping our customers scale.
I'm a perfectionist, but I also like to get things done. I don't cut corners, and I'm driven by the desire to provide our clients with excellent service.
I'm known for describing hosting through transport analogies, and for my occasional quick wit (often mischaracterised as 'dad jokes')."
"I'm a problem-solver at heart, so my passion is finding business challenges and providing technical solutions for them. I want to understand the impact of technical and commercial decisions so that I have a complete picture of customer's requirements. As the Head of Sales and Marketing, I work on onboarding clients and then transitioning them to our cloud services in everyday operations to make sure that the process is as smooth and simple as possible.
In my spare time you will either find me on my mountain bike, or playing on my keyboards. I’m more of a music lover than a musician, but I do have a home studio with some nice gear. My wife will tell you I’ve been making music for almost 15 years, but unlike her, I find it very therapeutic."
"I've been working at Layershift for over 10 years, taking various roles over time. I am now enjoying one that is closest to my heart - Account Management and my speciality is translating 'tech' to plain English and vice versa. In this fast-paced industry of cloud hosting, we learn something new every day. My goal is to be the best customer advocate by finding win-win solutions and helping our team become more customer-oriented by bridging skills the gap.
I love challenges and solving problems so I've recently started the extra role of Project Manager where I can practice focusing on finding options, removing blockers and helping our entire team and company evolve and progress.
Travelling to discover new places is my favourite pastime and nothing recharges me better than a hike up a mountain peak with the people I love."
"As a Support Engineer, I started learning and using Linux at the beginning of 2002 but it wasn't until I joined Layershift on April 1st 2015 that I got to use my skills for the benefit of customers.
I've had the opportunity to work with hosting technologies that stand at the core of the hosting industry. This includes multiple languages, technologies and web servers, such as WordPress, WooCommerce, Drupal and Magento. I've supported both small and large enterprise solutions in my time at Layershift. I enjoy finding out how things were built and what their purposes were in order to better understand how to fix them when they break.
In my free time, I like to ride my bike. I also like to cook from time to time, and I have a sweet tooth. Lemon cookies are my favourite!"
